Every new account gets a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card required. During the trial, you can:

At the end of your trial, you can choose a plan or request an extension.

Assessments

Our AI assessment generator uses advanced language models to create unique, relevant questions tailored to your requirements. Here's how it works:

  1. You specify the role: Tell us the job title, required skills, and difficulty level
  2. AI generates questions: Our AI creates a mix of multiple-choice, coding challenges, and video questions
  3. You review and customize: Edit, add, or remove questions as needed
  4. Questions are validated: Our system checks for accuracy and appropriate difficulty

Each generated assessment is unique, reducing the risk of candidates sharing answers.

Absolutely! You can create fully custom assessments using our question builder. Options include:

  • Multiple choice: Single or multiple correct answers
  • Coding challenges: With our integrated code editor and test cases
  • Video responses: Candidates record video answers to your questions
  • Free-text: Open-ended written responses

You can also use a hybrid approach — mix AI-generated questions with your own custom questions.

Assessment length is fully customizable. Common configurations include:

  • Quick screening: 15-20 minutes (5-10 multiple choice questions)
  • Standard technical: 45-60 minutes (mix of MCQ and coding)
  • Comprehensive: 90-120 minutes (full assessment with video)

You set the time limit and question count. We recommend keeping assessments under 90 minutes for optimal candidate experience.

For coding assessments and proctored tests, we require candidates to use a desktop or laptop with a webcam. This ensures the best experience and accurate proctoring.

For mobile-friendly assessments (multiple choice only, no proctoring), candidates can use tablets or smartphones with a modern browser.

Proctoring

Our AI proctoring system monitors candidates during assessments to detect potential integrity issues. Here's what it monitors:

  • Webcam monitoring: Detects if the candidate leaves the frame, if multiple people are present, or if they look away frequently
  • Audio analysis: Detects background voices or conversations
  • Browser monitoring: Detects tab switches, copy-paste from external sources, and screen sharing
  • Identity verification: Photo ID verification at the start of the assessment

All events are flagged and timestamped in the Integrity Dashboard for your review. AI categorizes issues as low, medium, or high severity.

No, proctoring is optional and configurable per assessment. You can choose:

  • No proctoring: Candidates take the assessment without monitoring
  • Light proctoring: Browser lockdown and tab-switch detection only
  • Full proctoring: Webcam, audio, browser, and identity verification

We recommend full proctoring for high-stakes assessments and final-round evaluations.

We've designed our proctoring to be robust, but issues can happen. Here's how we handle them:

  • Camera/mic issues: Candidates see troubleshooting steps before the assessment starts
  • Internet disconnection: Progress is saved, and candidates can resume from where they left off
  • Browser crash: Same as above — progress is saved and resumable

If a candidate experiences persistent issues, you can grant them a new attempt or adjust the proctoring settings.

By default, proctoring recordings are stored for 90 days after the assessment. Enterprise customers can configure custom retention periods from 30 days to 1 year.

All recordings are encrypted at rest and can be deleted on request to comply with data protection regulations.

Pricing & Billing

Each plan includes a monthly candidate allowance. A "candidate" is counted when they complete an assessment (started and submitted). Here's how it works:

  • Starter: Up to 50 candidates/month
  • Professional: Up to 200 candidates/month
  • Enterprise: Unlimited candidates

If you exceed your monthly limit, you can purchase additional candidate credits or upgrade your plan. Unused candidates do not roll over to the next month.

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time:

  • Upgrading: Takes effect immediately. You'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing cycle.
  • Downgrading: Takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

There are no penalties or fees for changing plans.

We accept:

  • All major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)
  • ACH bank transfer (US only)
  • Wire transfer (for annual Enterprise contracts)

All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Yes! When you choose annual billing, you save approximately 15-20% compared to monthly billing. This works out to getting about 2 months free per year.

Annual plans are billed upfront and are non-refundable (but you can always upgrade to a higher tier).

We want you to be happy with Skillytal! Here's our refund policy:

  • Monthly plans: You can cancel anytime. No refunds for partial months, but you keep access until the end of your billing cycle.
  • Annual plans: 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied within the first 30 days, contact us for a full refund.

For Enterprise customers, refund terms are specified in your contract.
